LEARNING TO RIDE. RIDING TO LEARN.

the what

Lucky to Ride is bringing students together from Sheridan, Southwest Denver and Englewood to form the Southwest Denver Mountain Bike team. No mountain bike experience needed. We provide bikes, gear, and coaches that will teach you how to ride and enjoy the experience. Just come ready to have some fun and be willing to learn something new!
Participants must be high school aged students.

Practices will be held at local trails with the opportunity to ride awesome trails throughout Colorado.

.

the why

The High School Mountain Bike Team provides a regular opportunity to get outside and out of the city. LTR provides all bikes, equipment and training to participants, so anyone can explore the sport of mountain biking. Students will have the opportunity to train with coaches, compete in local races with the support of Lucky to Ride, and to enjoy a new activity with friends and teammates.

The How

Practices occur weekly after school with increased training for students who want to compete in races and continued riding opportunities year round as the racing season ends. Mountain Bike Team participants can choose to compete or just to ride with the team and enjoy the outdoors.

While competing in the Colorado High School Cycling League in the fall is an option for all students, it is not the end goal. Our ultimate goal is to give student-athletes the opportunity to ride, explore the front range through biking and camping, all while building relationships with their peers and mentors.

the who

Aligned with our mission, our coaches have a positive attitude, enjoy working with young folks, have experience mountain biking and are bilingual.
